Korean Paintball Art
I’ve been so caught up with Korean women’s bodies recently (hey, it happens) that I’ve only just realised that I haven’t posted about original, creative, and/or quirky Korean art for a while now. Let me try rectifying that, starting with this cool painting made using a paintball gun:
Found at Mongdori here, which is quite a treasure trove of interesting videos like that.

hey. this is jer from http://washpost.wordpress.com/. you commented on a picture of a map of korea. the one youre talking about is from a museum on the china-n korea border(dandong, china) called the Museum Commemorating the War to Resist American Aggression and Aid Korea. article about it here: http://www.time.com/time/asia/2006/boa/mind_nkorea.html . really interesting place. i have a bunch of pics from there if youre interested in strange war propaganda, etc. the border area (failrly ambivalently guarded as well) is a very interesting place to visit if you are intersted in north korea, korean diaspora, etc. and a real contrast to the border on this side. lots of korean elements around and an “autonomous” korean area as well.
cheers.
Thanks a lot for the information and the links Jer, and wow, you’ve been to North Korea! I’m at work so I can’t write much now, but I would be very interested in more pictures, especially of that map; I liked it so much I’ve already written a post about it, due to go up tomorrow.
James, go to davesmeaton.com and look in the sections at the top and I think you’ll find two categories of Korean art that are right up your street!!
Sorry, but could you be more specific with the address? I’ve tried all variations of I can think of for “davesmeaton.com” for the last ten minutes now, but with no luck…
[...] comes from James by way of Mongdori, who I’m hoping made this video herself so I can stop this link geneology. [...]
[...] (Update: A big thanks to Jer, who tells me where he got the original shot from here) [...]
Sorry JAmes, its davidsmeaton.com
Thanks Daeguowl, especially for assuming that I need HELP finding categories of “art” like that…I can assure you that I don’t! But some of his other stuff, especially landscape shots, are very good, and so I’ll be emailing him soon to ask him if I can use them on the blog. Beyond Flickr, sites with photographs of Korea that allow you to use them freely are unfortunately very few and far between.
