Sorry for not writing my second post on the controversy surrounding the possible elimination of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, but I’ve been partying hard busier than expected in my last couple of days here, and couldn’t do the subject justice in the few hours I wasn’t packing books to be shipped to Korea (Any Kiwi readers know of any good freight companies for that?).
As this post goes up, the family will have just left Auckland for Hong Kong, and after a night there, we’ll will be back in Busan on Friday. I’d like to post the next day, but we have an oh-so-wonderfully timed friend’s daugther’s 1st birthday party (돌잔치) to go to in Gyeongju instead, so things might have to wait until Sunday. Apologies all round, and I hope you can live without your GrandNarrativeFix™ until then.
In the meantime, just between you and me, I’m…ahem…really looking forward to some good solid Korean food after all this time.
